An Instagram collage that opens at 1080 × 1350 pixels — the 4:5 portrait post — with layouts generated for the photos you add and a Slides panel for carousels. JPEG at quality 90 by default, sRGB, at the width Instagram keeps.

Carousels
- One slide per page. Every slide shares the board size; add, duplicate, reorder or delete them in Slides.
- Exported in order. All slides leave as one ZIP named for the carousel, the files inside numbered 1-of-N so they sort in posting order.
- Recompression. The platform recompresses uploads; 1080 px wide is the width it keeps, so nothing is resized on the way in.
When another mode is better
Just two photos: two photos in one frame. More layouts for any count up to twelve: the collage generator. Printing the same photos as a poster: photo collage print.
Your photos never leave this device; you upload the finished JPEG yourself.
Each slide is its own collage; a single wide picture split seamlessly across slides, and the 3 × 3 profile-grid splitter, are not here yet. Instagram’s sizes change; the size list says which numbers are official and which to check.
Asked and answered
What size is an Instagram collage here?
1080 × 1350 pixels, the 4:5 portrait shape, by default. The size list also has the 1080 × 1080 square and the 1080 × 566 landscape. Instagram's help pages say photos are kept at up to 1080 pixels wide; the 4:5 and landscape heights come from third-party size guides, so the panel labels them to check against the platform's current guidance.
How do I make a carousel?
Use Slides: add a slide, and each one is a collage at the same size. Export with All slides and you get one ZIP of numbered JPEGs — collage-1-of-5.jpg, collage-2-of-5.jpg and so on — in posting order.
Why does my collage look softer after I post it?
Instagram recompresses every upload. Exporting at 1080 px wide, as JPEG, means it does not also have to resize the picture, which is the part that softens it most. The readout shows the file size before you export.
Which layout should I use for four photos?
The one at the top of the suggestions: it is ranked by how much of your four photos it keeps at 4:5, and each photo is matched to the cell that suits its shape. Change your mind any time — choosing a layout is one undo step.
Are my photos uploaded to make the collage?
No. The collage is built and exported by this browser tab; you upload the finished JPEG to Instagram yourself.
