A heart photo collage on a 12 × 12 in board: your photos are laid into the cells of a heart, in tray order, as soon as they are read. The count line tells you how many cells the heart has against how many photos you brought, so you know before you export whether any repeat.
A worked example: a heart 12 cells across
How the shape is filled
- A grid over the shape. The shape is drawn at an eighth of the board’s size; a cell is kept when at least the threshold share of it is inside.
- Your order. Cells fill left to right, top to bottom from the tray, so sort the tray first if order matters.
- Ordinary frames. Every cell comes out as a frame you can drag, reframe, swap or delete.
| Cells across | Cell size | Cells in a heart (about) |
|---|---|---|
| 8 | 1.38 in | 35–40 |
| 12 | 0.92 in | 86 |
| 20 | 0.55 in | 200–220 |
When another mode is better
A heading over the heart: collage with text. A picture made of photos rather than a shape: photo mosaic maker.
Your photos never leave this device.
Above about 30 cells across, each photo is a few millimetres on A4 — the panel prints the cell size beside the control. Letters keep a stepped edge; only the geometric shapes clip to an exact outline.
Asked and answered
How many photos does a heart need?
As many as it has cells. The panel says it plainly — for example, a heart of 38 cells for 24 photos means 14 cells repeat a photo. Fewer cells across, or Leave them empty, changes that.
Can I make a number or a name?
Yes. Choose Letters or numbers and type up to six — 50, MOM, LOVE. The letters are set in the bundled display face and stretched to fill the board. Thin strokes such as I or 1 keep more cells at a lower threshold.
Does the edge follow the curve?
Whole cells give a stepped edge. For heart, circle, star, rounded square and hexagon, Clip to the exact outline cuts the edge photos to the true curve. Letters keep the stepped edge.
Can I put one big photo in the middle?
Turn on One large photo in the middle: the largest square block of cells at the centre becomes one frame for the first photo in the tray.
Are the photos uploaded?
No. The cells are worked out and the picture is drawn in this tab; the file goes straight to your downloads.
